Barbra Archibald, age 98, of Groesbeck, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2001. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Richard Williams officiating. Burial followed in Old Union Cemetery. Mrs. Archibald was born January 22, 1903 in Limestone County to Gilbert and Levia (Lewis) Archer. She was a retired ward attendant from Mexia State School.
Mrs. Archibald was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Levia Archer; her husband, Allen Archibald, and her son, Oral Archibald.
Mrs. Archibald is survived by her daughter-in-law, Bertie Archibald of Mexia; two grandchildren, Norman Archibald of Waxahachie, and Terry Beasley of Red Oak; three great grandchildren, Andrea Beasley and Luke Beasley of Waxahachie and Amy Harp of Gainesville; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Eric Archer, Jerry Archer, Norman Archibald, Luke Beasley, Terry Beasley and Gene Brown.
