"Virginia Foyt, age 89, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005, in Austin. Texas She was born on May 7, 1916, in rural Callahan County, Texas. Virginia was the youngest of four children born to Bernard and Aletha McGee Watkins. Her brother, M.L. and two sisters, Valery and Irene predeceased her. Virginia grew up in Rising Star, Tex. Following graduation from John Tarleton Junior College, Virginia moved to Austin and worked as a cook in a boarding house. It was there that she met Arthur to whom she was married for 58 years before his death in 1994. In 1956, Virginia went to work as a secretary for the UT Student Health Center. She was the kind smiling face that greeted students visiting the Health Center until she retired in 1977. She touched everyone she met and was loved by her co-workers...."
