His father died in 1925 and he was raised by his uncle Harold N. Sullivan (#5900455) who married his mother, Winifred and raised him as his own son. The wife of Douglas H. Sullivan at the time of his death was Clara A. Covalt Sullivan, Salt Lake City, Utah. He also left behind at the time of his death a young daughter.
