Oda was the daughter of Samuel Delph and Vera (Means) Delph. She married George Washington Payne. They had one son, George Edward Payne.

She and her husband traveled a lot doing revivals. They were both ministers. They bought property/house in Turlock California, a town that family says they fell in love with.

After her son's divorce from his first wife they returned to Palmyra Indiana to help him with his sons. Sometime after her husband passed away and was buried in Palmyra Indiana, she moved back to Turlock California with her son and his second wife Pauline. I don't know if any of Oda's 3 grandsons from this marriage were born before this move or not. Either way, she continued to help raise this family as she had the first.
