A mother, homemaker and nurse's aide, she died at 7 a.m. Monday, March 24, 1997, in Lufkin, Texas. She was 85, a resident of Lufkin, a former resident of Prairieville and a native of Hermitage, Ark. Visiting at Broussard Grove Baptist Church, Prairieville, noon Thursday until religious services at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Nathan Luce. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by a son, William Thomas Pennington, Lufkin; a sister, Anna Lee Quimby, Hermitage; a brother, William Houston Stuart, Biloxi, Miss.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne P. Jeffers; and former husband, Paul Murphy Pennington. She was a member of Broussard Grove Baptist Church

Fannie was the daughter of William Hicklin Stuart and Laura Maybell Hughes. She married Paul Pennington on 22 March 1929 in Bradley County, Arkansas, they had two children: William and Joanne.
