CAWLEY DIES OF WOUNDS
Cpl. Arthur Cawley
Mrs. and Mrs. Lester Cawley of 695 Grant st, received word from the War Department that their son Cpl. Arthur Cawley, who had been seriously wounded in action in France on August 15, died the same day.
He was a member of the mechanized cavalry and had been overseas since January, 1944.
During his training in the United States, Cpl. Cawley was hurt at Fort Riley, Kansas. Other camps at which he served are: Camp Maxey, Texas; Shreveport, La., and desert maneuvers in California.
He was a member of the Christ Lutheran church and the Bunton Bock Gun and Rod Club. Prior to entering the service he was employed at the Hauto Plant of the P.P.&L. Co.
His wife is the former Miss Margaret Horner, of Manhattan, Kansas.
His brother, Tech. Sgt. Earl Cawley is also in France. A brother-in-law, Raymond Sewell is also serving.
