J. F. Riordan Dead

Jeremiah F. Riordan died at his home in Atchison, Kan., last Saturday, after a lingering illness from cancer, and the funeral services were held yesterday. He was born in LaSalle about 55 years ago, and when a young man moved to Ottawa. About twelve years ago he moved to Atchison, where he became a traveling salesman for a wholesale grocery house.

A few years ago he became afflicted with cancer of the jaw. He went to New York and submitted to an operation, the surgeon who performed it receiving $1,000 for his fee. Since that time six other operations were performed. Mr. Riordan leaves his wife in comfortable circumstances. He owns two residence properties in Atchison, and has a snug sum of money out at interest. Aside from his wife he leaves one brother, Michael K., of Chicago, and two sisters in Streator. His remains will no doubt be brought to Eagle township and laid beside those of his parents.
