Recent Stroke Fatal to Herman J. Nass
Herman J. Nass, 74, died last night at the Atchison hospital at 10:30 o'clock. Death was caused by a stroke suffered September 6.
Mr. Nass was born February 12, 1869, in Atchison, the son of Jacob and Johanna Nass.
On January 12, 1910 he married Miss Theresa Vandeloo at St. Benedict's church. for 30 years he had been an employee of BM&S. Prior tho this he was in business with his brothers in the Nass Brothers Brick Co.
A communicant of St. Benedict's church, he was a member of the Holy Name society.
He is survived by his widow; by three sons, Staff Sgt. Laurence Nass, whose station is not known; Gilbert of the home and Thomas of Omaha, Neb.; by two daughters, Mrs. J.C. Murray of Fall City and Rose Marie of Home; by a brother, Werner Mass of Atchison, and a sister, Miss Gertrude Nass of Atchison, and by three grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited Friday evening at the Harouff & Buis service chapel at 8 o'clock.
Funeral services will be at 9 o'clock Saturday morning from St. Benedict's church with burial at Mount Calvary.
The Rev. Gilbert Wolters, O.S.B., a nephew of the deceased, will officiate at the rosary and the services.
Pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, will be Norbert Wolters, Herman Nass, Leo Nass, William Nass, Harold Vandeloo and Edward Vandeloo.
