Mrs. Bertie Mae Barnett, 97, of Hamburg died Friday, December 31, 2004, in Hamburg. She was a native and life long resident of Hamburg; a homemaker and a member of the Hamburg Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Gerald Barnett and wife Joy of Oklahoma City, OK; three daughters, Barbara Courson and husband William of Crossett; Beth Leigh and husband Kenneth and Julia Pruitt, all of Hamburg; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Barnett, in 1979; a son, Willard Barnett, Sr.; a daughter, Alice Barnett Leigh; her parents, Erastus and Betty Tumlison Giles; three grandchildren, Steve and James Barnett and Bertha Ellen Barnett; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 2, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Meredith officiating. Burial followed services at the Unity Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jon and Daniel Beasley, Kyle Barnett, Justin Mills, Wayne Smith, Kenton and Matthew Leigh, Cory and Clint Snelgrove and Jack Pruitt.
