Dora Helen Brim Gallant Hylton, 90, of 79 New Jerusalem Church Road, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at her home.

She was born in Price, N.C., on Dec. 12, 1913, to Ed Brim and Carrie Manns Brim. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James W. Gallant and Clarence Hylton.

She retired after 35 years as a domestic worker in the Shotland residence. She was a member of the House of the Lord Pentecostal Holiness Church. She served as a church mother, secretary and missionary.

Surviving are two daughters, Ethel Mae Lowery of Ridgeway and Angeline Higgerson of Detroit, Mich; three sons, James H. Gallant of Bassett, Leon Gallant of Ridgeway and David Gallant of Martinsville; one step-daughter, Joan Hylton of Detroit, Mich.; one step-son, the Rev. Larry Hylton of Ridgeway; one sister, Annie Brown of Spencer; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Mayo Missionary Baptist Church. Elder Goron Warren will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
