He loved to fix things and loved doing things for others. He enjoyed gardening and playing music with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arlis Hicks.
Howard Hicks is survived by his wife, Barbara Hicks of the home; two daughters, Debbie Berry and her husband, John, of Harrison and Lisa Honeycutt of Harrison; a son, David Hicks of Kirbyville, Mo.; his grandchildren, Wes Berry, Collin Honeycutt, Mallory Honeycutt and Casey Hicks; his great-grandchildren, Jessie and Shawn Wiseman; his sisters, Alice Renfroe and her husband, J.R., Sharon Taylor and her husband, James, and Brenda Bogue and her husband, Richard; a brother, Harold Hicks, and his wife, Rayanna; an aunt, Ruby Garrett; an uncle, Boyd Flippo, and his wife, Doris; and many neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Tollie Sutterfield officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Marshall, Donnie Daniels, Phillip Newberry, David Shockley, Craig Hicks, Randy Stull, Gary Larimer and Henry Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be J.R. Renfroe, Harold Hicks, James Taylor, Richard Bogue, The employees of Miller Hardware, Jerry Davis, Lee Cox, Mark Williams, Henry Burrell and Buck Hayes.
