Violet E. Chumbley Blair, 86 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Violet was born in Casey County, Kentucky on March 5th, 1924, daughter of the late George Chumbley and Rosalie Taylor Chumbley. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Cotter Avenue Church of God.
Violet was survived by one daughter, Maxine (and H.C.) Lewis; two brothers, Arnold Chumbley and Eugene (and Imogene) Chumbley; four grandchildren, Shannon (and Graziela) Mink, Danny (and Holly) Pevley, Jeremy (and Renee) Pevley, and Aaron Pevely; four great-grandchildren, Darius Mink, Warren Mink, Jade Pevley, and Damian Pevley; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Chumbley and Rosalie Chumbley; her husband, Stanley Blair, whom she married in Huntsville, Tennessee in 1966; two sons, James Pevley and Danny Pevley; and two sisters, Hester Chadwell and Beulah Kenyon.
Visitations were held after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4th, 2010 in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating.
Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
