Katie Hartranft Meiser, 83, formerly of 112 E. Main St., Newmanstown, died Saturday afternoon in Cedar Haven, where she had resided for two years. Born in Newmanstown, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Cora Riehl Hippert. She had been predeceased by two husbands, Elias Hartranft, September 1935, and William F. Meiser, October 1965. She was a member of Millcreek Lutheran Church, Newmanstown. She is survived by four daughters, Lila Sites, and Kathryn, wife of Robert K. Zerbe, both of Newmanstown, and Dorothy Saltzer, West Lawn and Margaret, wife of Clarence Greth, Wernersville. Four sons surviving are: Elias J. and Paul Hartranft, both of Newmanstown; and George and Robert Hartranft, both of Womelsdorf. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Carrie, wife of Fred Smith, Palmyra, and Helen McCook, Newmanstown. [Lebanon Daily News, Monday October 10, 1977]
