Orville G. Abramson, 82, formerly of Holton and Morrill, KS, passed away at his home on December 24, 2009, in Aurora, CO. He was born on May 29, 1927 and raised in Arrington, KS, the son of Earl and Mabel Ernst Abramson. Orville graduated from Effingham High School in 1945. He served in the United States Army during World War II and served in the United States Army Reserve for over twenty years. He retired in 1989 from the Veterans Administration of Denver, CO, as an operating maintenance engineer supervisor. Orville married Darlene Ann Richard on May 21, 1950 in Goff, KS. He is survived by his wife and their three children, Steven M. Abramson, Randall L. Abramson and Deborah A. Poor all of Aurora, CO. Other survivors include a brother, Carson G. Abramson of Hiawatha, KS; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Orville was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen S. Shell. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Orville was cremated and inurnment will be in Netawaka Cemetery.
