Mrs. Anna C. Lehman, 96, of Tipton, died Thursday morning, Sept. 23, 1982, at her home. She was born Sept. 19, 1886, near Fortuna, a daughter of Ben and Rose Newkirk Hays. April 9, 1909, she married Harvey Lehman. He died in 1957.

Mrs. Lehman was a member of the Christian Church. She continued to live on the farm until 1965 when she moved to Tipton. She was the last surviving member of her family of 13 children.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Earlene Lutz, Mrs. Hazel Snyder, both of Tipton, and Miss Juanita Lehman of Kansas City; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One son, Jewell Lehman, died in 1961.

Services were at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Conn Chapel, with the Rev. George Igo officiating. Bill Dawson sang, "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Mrs. Dawson at the organ. Burial was in the Newkirk Cemetery near Fortuna. Pallbearers were Jim Dornan, Ted Hays, Don Cook, Mitchell Dornan, John Carter and Lloyd Carter.
