Although Nancy's husband had married Esther Shock in 1850 and moved to Iowa with Nancy's children, Nancy was alive and mentioned by name in her father's Will in 1855. I believe she must have had a medical issue, perhaps a stroke, was in a vegetative state or perhaps suffered from a form of ALS, which ran in some of the Wellman line. I believe her husband probably divorced her, left her with family and moved on.
