Bruce E. Miear, 74 of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Ruby Langford Miear. Born Sept. 30, 1929, in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Hammond and Lenes Marsh Miear. He was a retired employee of Coleman-Adams and a member of Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Rudolph Miear; and two sisters, Dorothy Miear and Eula Witt. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Teresa M. Martin and her husband, David of Rustburg; two grandsons; Todd Fisher of Lynchburg and his wife Shannon of Rustburg; a step-granddaughter, Anna Martin of Rustburg; a great-granddaughter, Alysa Fisher, a step-great-granddaughter, Raven Martin; a brother, Allen H. Miear; and six sisters, Jean M. Mason, Rebecca M. Lacy, Edith M. Tyree, Erma M. Coleman, Geneva M. Maddox and Linda M. Pulliam, all of the Lynchburg area. A funeral service will be held Saturday, at 2 p.m. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel, with the Rev. Charles L. Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Those wishing to make memorial contributions please consider the American Heart Association.
