Amanda Green Arnold Conger was the daughter of Benjamin Wilson Arnold and Louisa Amanda Hart. She was born in Blue Ridge, Texas on March 26, 1866.

She married John Thomas Conger on June 14, 1885 in Camp, Texas. Together, they had seven children: Mamie Dora "Eudie" Conger (Rusher), Hubert Hart Conger, Mertie Lavada Conger, William Clinton "Bill" Conger, Minnie Sophy Conger, Benjamin Alvie "Pete" Conger, Sr., and Iva May "Ivy" Conger.

According to her death certificate, Amanda (who was preceded in death by her husband), died of hypostatic pneumonia in Matador, Texas on January 17, 1949, and was buried at East Mound Cemetery on January 18, 1949.
