Mr. Copeland was born April 2, 1924 in Whitney. He was reared in Bosqueville and had been a resident of Rt. 1 Aquilla for the past 25 years.
He was a retired Army warrant office, retiring in 1964. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4819 in West. He was a rural mail carrier in Aquilla for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Copeland; two sons, David Copeland of Joshua, and Mike Copeland, of Mount Calm; one stepson John R. Casper of San Antonio; four brothers, Marland Copeland of Mart, Harland Copeland of Port Arthur, Walter Copeland of Sea Isle City, N.J. and Tommy Copeland of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Malzie Rook of Beaumont, Mrs. Lillian Hand of Austin, and Mrs. Mary Ulrich of Saudi Arabia; two grandsons and three step-grandchildren.
