She was born Nov.17, 1918 in Flagstaff, to Feliciano and Emilia Sandoval. Mrs. Alonzo touched the lives of many who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Isabel enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking and crocheting and loved to listen to music, especially "big band" music from the 40's. She was a loving and devoted mother who always busy with every activity involving her children and their families.
Mrs. Alonzo is survived by her children, Ed, Yolanda and Armando (Lorri), all of Phoenix; six grandchildren, Mycheal Gonzalez, Teddy (Stephanie) Babbitt, Emmy (Brad) Dewitt, Erin, Ben and Brooke Alonzo; three great-grandchildren, Jaydin Gonzalez, Hunter and Gunner Babbitt; brother, Tony Sandoval, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benito.
An evening vigil and holy rosary will be Friday at 7 p.m., with a funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m., both held at St. Pius X Center, 2257 E. Cedar Ave. Following services, she will be buried next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery.
