Ella was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Gunsight to Joseph and Blanche Blackburn. Throughout her life she worked at several jobs including the telephone company, Paris Coffee Shop and finally retiring from the Postal Service. But one job she really enjoyed was being a "Rosie the Riveter." Ella was a member and was very involved in the Women's Democratic League as a lobbyist. She was a great wife, mother and a good friend to many. Ella will be missed by all of her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brothers, Carl, Rex and Joe Blackburn; sister, Pauline Thompson; and stepson, Steve Stevens.
Survivors: Daughter, Beverly McCubbins; stepson, Mark Stevens; sisters, Kay Snyder and Martha Davis; brother, Burt Blackburn; grandchildren, Britt Watkins, Ben Youngblood, Bobby McCubbins, Jason Stevens and Emily Chandler; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
