Funeral services for Clyde Irby Adams, 78, of Lovington will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Jackson Avenue Baptist Church with Bro. Dave Rowser officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Clyde was born August 7, 1931 in Pecan Gap, Texas to Paul Irby and Ella Hall Adams and passed away on April 21, 2010 in Lovington, NM. He graduated high school in 1948 and later married Alice Ruth Brown on June 3, 1950. He moved to Lovington in 1954 and worked as an electrician until beginning his own business "Adams Electric" in 1964, which he successfully ran for 35 years. He decorated the Dan Glade house for Christmas for 56 years. He was a member of Ambucs for several years. He was a 32nd degree mason being past Master of Lovington Lodge # 46. He was a member of Jackson Avenue Baptist Church for 55 years. He is survived by his wife: Ruth Adams of the home, daughters: Teri Webb of Denver, CO. and Lesha Adams of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a special friend of Houston, TX, Stefanie Marsh. He was preceded in death by his mother: Ella Adams; his father: Paul Adams; and brothers: James and Buddy Adams. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Scottish Rite Dyslexia Learning Center for Children, 321 W. Washington, Lovington, NM 88260.
