ELI BOX KILLED.

Trouble Near Nacogdoches Yesterday Resulted In One Death

Nacogdoches, Texas, May 2.--T.S. Treadaway and three other white men are tonight in the county jail, the former charged with shooting and killing his father-in-law, Eli Box, and the three as accomplices. The trouble occurred just about noon and took place on Box's farm which joins the railroad right of way, Treadaway, being foreman of the section crew on the Texas & New Orleans Railway. A double-barrel shotgun was the weapon used, loaded with buckshot, almost the entire charge taking effect in Box's side and killing him almost instantly.

Box was a man about 65 years of age, well known and well liked, having lived here practically all of his life. Treadaway is about 45 years of age.

The killing occurred five miles north of the city. Family affaires are said to have led to the tragedy.
