Wife - Martice Ellen "Aunt Bill" Boone, sister to Margie Katherine Boone.

Pvt. Shelton survived the torpedoing & sinking of the troopship "Tuscania" on 5 February 1918 in the North Channel between Scotland & Ireland by German submarine UB-77.

He returned from World War I aboard the "Rijndam" in December 1918 as a private in Co. E, 125th Infantry.

On both voyages, he listed his mother, Julia Shelton, of West Station, Texas, as his next-of-kin.
