Mr. D. S. Gallant, 64, Latexo farmer and rancher, died Wednesday, Jan 9, 1963 in a Houston Hospital following a short illness.
Born on March 20, 1898, in Houston Co., Mr. Gallant was a member of the Latexo Baptist Church and was chairman of the Board of Deacons.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Wessier Gallant of Latexo; a son David Jr. of Houston, two daughters, Mrs. C. O. Beard of Houston and Mrs. C. B. Spence of Pasadena; three brothers; W. L. of Crockett; J. D. of Houston and George of Latexo; a sister Mrs. Georgia Gallant of Crockett and four grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Gallant were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan 11, from the Latexo Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Cashion pastor officiating. Interment was in the Latexo Cemetery, and pallbearers were Norman Hooks,Bobby Mack Minter, Curtis Sims, Smith Clines, George Ed Gallant, and Doyle Rayburn Gallant.Callaway Funeral Home
