SAN ANGELO Earl Gene "Freddy" Frederiksen, passed away from this life on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was 83 years old. Freddy was born Oct. 16, 1926, to William and Florence Frederiksen in Groom, Texas, the youngest of six children. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elois Frederiksen; a son, Don Frederiksen and wife Debbie; and daughter Robin Harrison; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was called "my favorite uncle" by many. Freddy loved people, he always had a big smile and his laughter was infectious. He always spread joy and gave a dose of sunshine where ever he went. Freddy was a pharmaceutical salesman for 25 years. After retirement he and Elois bought Lynda's Boutique in 1974 and later Angelo Suzuki Kawasaki. Freddy proudly served in the U.S. Armed Forces as a merchant marine and was a SJT in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne during the Korean conflict. The family would like to thank Hospice of San Angelo for their gracious and loving care of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Memorials in honor of Freddy may be made to Hospice of San Angelo. We would like to offer a special thanks to all of our friends and neighbors who showered us with their love and prayers. Visitation will be Friday, April 9, 2010, where family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
