Helen Dewbre was born on March 9, 1938, in Gainesville, Texas, and passed this life on April 9, 2010 at her home in Crosbyton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, D. R. and Juanita (West) Boone of Ralls; a brother, Gene Boone; and a sister, Mildred Woods.

Helen attended school at Ralls and worked at White River Retreat as a nurse for 14 years. She moved to Crosbyton in 1954 and was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church.

Helen is survived by her husband of 56 years, Melvin Dewbre of Crosbyton; son, David Dewbre and wife Kathy of Idalou; and daughters, Cindy May and husband Van of Lubbock and Judi Jones and husband Jesse of Crosbyton. She is also survived by six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dale Boone of Paris, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
