Basil Guy Simmons was married to Helen Esther Hood 10 Nov 1919 in Stockton, CA. They had four children, Rose Helen, b. 23 Aug 1920, Billy Guy, b.27 Sep 1921, and twins Jackie Richard & James Robert, b. 16 Oct 1925. Jackie was hit by a car and killed when he was 8 years old.
Basil married Berniece Mildred (Sigler) Grisham on 28 July 1945 in Los Angeles, CA. Berniece had two daughters whom he raised as his own. He was a wonderful father to them.
He accepted the Lord and was baptized in the First Baptist Church, Lawndale, CA.in 1968.
He moved to Valley Center, San Diego Co,CA in 1970 and lived there until his death in 1978.
He was a member of Grandview Church, Valley Center.
He belonged to the VFW in Gardena, and Veterans of WW I in Hawthorne, CA.
He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 108 until he retired.
He was a very fine and moral man. He had many grandchildren & friends who all loved him.
