Jesse E. Tackett, 68, died Wednesday, March 5, in Highland Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
A resident of Riceville, he was born in Morgan County April 20, 1911, the son of George W. and Minnie Jenkins Tackett.
He was a retired merchant and miner and a member of the United Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sola Blanton Tackett; three sons, Otto, Delaware,OH, Benny, Xenia,OH and Cheater, Riceville; four daughters, Ella Mae Caudill, Neva Caudill and Betty Heinz, Xenia,OH and Ruth Ann Meade, Flat Gap; two sisters, Mrs. Tellie Posey and Mrs. Maggie Jackson, Ashland;
30 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, march 8, in Long Fork United Baptist Church, Riceville, with Elders B. C. Ferguson, James H. Blair and Press Hughes officiating.
Burial was in Bayes Cemetery, Swamp Branch, with Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
