W. C. (Clarence) Killingsworth, 86, of Childress died Thursday June 7 at 7:55 a.m. in Childress hospital after an extended illness. He was a retired carpenter.
A Collingsworth county resident many years, he was born October 10, 1892, at Megargel, the son of George W. and Sallie McGill Killingsworth. He came here as a youth.
He was married to Hattie B. Russell on January 14, 1912 at Lillie Baptist Church. The couple moved to Childress in 1963. Mr. Killingsworth was a Baptist.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. R.L. Melton and Mrs. Edward Tice of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Jerry Skeyhan of El Paso; one son, Odis Killingsworth of Lovington, NM; one brother, Claude Killingsworth of Amarillo; five sisters, Mrs. Fay Rosenbaum of Sayre, OK, Mrs. Cecil Amerson of Shamrock, Mrs. Leta Carmack of Canon City, CO, Mrs. Myrtle Ray of Santa Ana, CA and Mrs. Retha Brooks of Greensburg, KS; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren
