Juan "Jay" Acevedo, Jr., age 35, of Newport, passed away, Friday, September 7, 2007.
He was a member of the Life and Praise Worship Center. He worked at Sonoco Products since 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Deana James Acevedo, of Newport; children, Lindsay Brooke Acevedo and Alexa Jayden Acevedo both of Newport; parents, Juan Acevedo, Sr., of Hormiguiros Puerto Rico and Emenita Marrero, of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, John Gregory, Kenny Gregory, Blas Rivera; sisters, Christine Gregory, Rosie Gregory, all of Jacksonville, Florida; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clay and Linda James of Newport; brother-in-law, Jon B. James of Newport; special friends, Shawn McIntosh and all paper Mill Sonoco Shop friends; also a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 12, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Eddie Pasternak, Rev. Randy Swann and Rev. Gabriel Cuevas officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 pm, Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Manes Funeral Home.
