Per the Lesley-Leslie history by Ruth Cleveland Leslie, page 159 - named for his father's brothers Martin DeWitt Clinton Bevins, "killed at the age of 27 at St. Paul, Virginia in 1863" and John Jefferson Bevins "killed at the age of 23" in Delaware (Ohio) "who were killed in battle while wearing the uniform of the Confederate States of America" (page 354). John Jefferson actually died of smallpox and Martin was discharged before his reported death. Youngest of 7 children born to Montraville "Mont" Bevins and Lucretia Amanda "Lula" Burnett Bevins; w-Sophia Sturdevant Bevins, 1 son-South Lee Bevins

South Bevins is reported to also be buried at Resthaven Memorial Garden in Louisville, Kentucky. Perhaps ashes were scattered here also.
