"OBITUARY"

Varnell Ira (Barney) Watts, 56 of 1416 N. Main St., died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, where he had been a patient five hours. He had been in failing health for several years. He was born in South Bend on Jan 21, 1913, and had lived his lifetime in South Bend and Mishawaka, the last 20 years in this city. On July 7, 1934, in South Bend, he married Donnabelle Landaw who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jerry L. Watts of San Diego, Calif., two daughters, Marilyn Jo (John) Humphreys and Sandra (LeRoy) Schwepler, both of Mishawaka, two brothers, Bernard Watts of Tujunga, Calif., and Zanc (Si) Watts of Mishawaka; a sister, Paul Kilmer of Sunland, Calif., and nine grandchildren. Mr. Watts worked 17 years for the Mishawaka Municpal Utilities Department until he retired two years ago. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel where services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday Rev. Wilbur C. Wilson, pastor of the Albright United Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
