HEART ATTACK IS FATAL FOR LA PLATA MAN
Former Santa Fe Employe Dies In Carrollton Hospital
---La Plata, Mo., July 21 (Special)-Orville Wood, 45, died at Carrollton, Mo., yesterday afternoon about 8:30 o'clock as a result of a heart attack.
---Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon in the Christian Church conducted by the Rev. B.R. Hollis, pastor. The time of the service was not set at the time of going to press. Interment will be in La Plata Cemetery.
---The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Washington Wood, he was born January 1, 1899, near Gifford. In 1918 he was married to Verna Beatrice Tuttle. A few months ago he was married to Mrs. Etta Lee.
---Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Deloma Gorham, of La Plata, Mrs. Evelyn Cummins, of San Francisco, Calif., and Doris Wilhite of La Plata; five brothers, Frank and Jeff of La Plata, Lawrence of Iowa, Ernest of Colorado, and Alva of Gifford; three sisters, Mrs. Onie Steel of Locust Hill, Mrs. Nora Slaughter of Gifford, Mrs. Harrison Stivers of Yarrow, and five grandchildren. One son died at the age of 2 years.
---Mr. Wood had been employed on the Santa Fe Railroad as a section hand for a few years.
