She was born on April 18, 1921, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Eldon V. Rickard and Geneva Mae Dofflemyer Rickard.
Mrs. Baliles was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School, Class of 1939. She worked for the FBI, Commerce Department, Department of the Air Force and the Department of Defense.
She was a member of the Luray United Methodist Church, UDC, Red Hat Society, Luray Caverns Country Club Ladies Association, Town and Country Supper Club, Page County Heritage Association and the Chesapeake Yacht Club in Shady Side, Md.
On Feb. 28, 1942, she married Maurice Dylon Baliles, who died on July 25, 2007.
She is survived by two sisters, Barbara Jennings and Vivian “Tib” Slye, both of Luray. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Mae Goode and Dorothy Whitaker. A funeral service was conducted on Sunday, June 16, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Erich Bennett.
Burial was in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
