She was born Oct. 27, 1938 in Georgetown, Il. to Herman and Alberta Negray Felgenhauer. She married John W. Cotten Sr. on Dec. 31, 1956 in Covington. He survives.
She is also survived by three sons, John W. (Dianne) Cotten Jr., Phillip Allan (Gwen) Cotten and Ron L. (June) Cotten, all of Covington; a sister, Sandra (David) Dennison, New Smyrna Beach, Fl.; four brothers, Jim (Barbara) Felgenhauer, Bill (Barbara) Felgenhauer, John (Patty) Felgenhauer and Larry Felgenhauer, all of Paris, Il.; eight grandchildren, Phillip (Amber) Cotten Jr., Zachary Cotten, Jordan Cotten, Jarred Cotten, Ronnie Cotten, Kim (Josh) Freed, Alaina Cotten and Emilee Cotton and three great-grandchildren, Logun Freed, Keegun Freed and Madisyn Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Frank Felgenhauer and a sister-in-law, Sandy Felgenhauer.
She graduated from Georgetown High School in 1956. While raising her boys, she worked as a cafeteria cook for the Covington schools. After becoming a licensed beautician, she previously operated a salon in her home. She was employed at Brewer's Meat Market, the City of Covington as a deputy clerk-treasurer and lastly as the manager of the Covington license branch until her retirement.
She selflessly spent her life caring for her family, home and others. She loved having company and sharing a meal or just a cup of coffee with family and her many, many friends.
