OBITUARY:
The Seguin-Gazette Enterprise Feb. 7, 2010 DOUGLAS F. BUIE
Douglas F. Buie passed away Feb 6, 2010, after a short illness at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Doug is survived by his wife Velma; children: Douglas F. Buie, Jr. and wife Rhonda; David Buie, Gwen Burkhalter and husband Deuane; Jacquelyn Cardenas and husband Joe; Gary Hoffmann and wife Kathy; Peggy Bulgerin and husband Roy; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by Fay Buie of Luling.
Doug retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service, after which he worked at and retired from the Seguin ISD.
He will be remembered by many for his musical talent and performances as a one-man band. Doug had many hobbies and enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled model airplanes. He was a long time member of the American Legion and an active member of the Elks Lodge where he served as their chaplain.
Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 7, from 5-9 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and family present from 5-7 p.m. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Feb. 9, and interment following at San Geronimo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association, the Seguin Elks Lodge, or the charity of one's choice.
