"OBITUARY"


Rev. John Henry Crume, whose home is two miles east of the city on the Middlebury road, died at 12:30 today. He was born in Ohio on April 25, 1848.

Surviving Mr. Crume are his wife, Sarah; five sons, George A., Leonard L., Wilbur R. Crume of this city. John W. Crume of South Whitley and Earl M. Crume who is in the service at Ft. Sheridan, Ill.; five daughters., Mrs. Ira McDaniel of Ligonier, Mrs. Sherman Williams of Alboin, Ind., Mrs. F. Bunch of Niles, Mrs. Lem Poyser of Toledo, and Mrs. O. Harrington of this city; one brother Live Crume of Brimfield, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. O. Stienbarger of Rome City and Mrs. M. J. Baughman of Goshen; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Crume was a minister of the Church of the Brethren. He had been ill of chronic nephritis since last June.

John, was one of four children born to Moses and Mary Eliza (Richards) Crume. He has one brother, Thomas Levi Crume, two sisters Lovina Christine (Crume) Stienbarger, Ivy Jane (Crume) Baughman, and a half brother, Solomon Hewitt Spillman.

He married Sarah Elizabeth Mawhorter on Feb. 2, 1873 in Ligonier, Noble Co., Indiana.
