PONTOTOC - Leland Mack Morphis, 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, in Pontotoc County. He was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Pontotoc to Lon T. and Beulah Wages Morphis. A lifelong resident of Pontotoc County, he was a member of the Apostolic Church, a Master Mason and a Shriner.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mortimer Funeral Home in Pontotoc with the Rev. Sammy Collins officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Mack Morphis (Teresa) of Calhoun City; one sister, Annie Kate Oliver of Pontotoc; two grandchildren, Lonnie and Marissa Morphis; and one niece, Hazel Garrett Johnson of Pontotoc.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Leon Morphis; and one sister, Erin Morphis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
