Rozelle Ayers Benton, 90, formerly of Stadium Drive, passed away Thursday morning at Brian Center in Eden. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 16 at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Ms. Benton was born April 5, 1919 in Rockingham County, NC, daughter of the late Elisha and Bertha Martin Ayers. She was a dedicated worker, having worked with the Rockingham County School system for almost 20 years. Ms. Benton was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Surviving are her sons, Ray Benton and wife, Judy of Ridgeway, VA, and Sam Benton and wife, Deborah of Eden; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Benton.
