Daughter of William Broadbent of Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire, England and Nancy Pendleberry of Radcliffe Lancashire, England

Sarah Ann married Thomas Harrop of Tintwistle, Cheshire, England in 1867. Thomas died in 1884.

In 1899, Sarah emigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, bringing all her children: Martha Ann, Amy, Joe, Elizabeth Ann, Thomas William and Edwin. She also brought her granddaughter, Gertrude, who was the daughter of Elizabeth Ann.
