Adelaide Ruddick, 91, of Holland passed away Monday, September 28, 2009.


Adelaide was born in Reed City, Michigan on August 18, 1918 to William and Martha Hoffmeyer. Adelaide was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Ruddick in 1966, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Orland and Arnold Hoffmeyer and sisters, Fredericka Larsen and Lillian Gillett.


She is survived by her children: Joanne and Stanley Maleitzke of Raleigh, NC, David and Cheril Ruddick of Rockford, Doug and Patricia Ruddick of Clarksville, grandchildren: Jill Sue Steininger, Mark Stanley Maleitzke, Jeffrey and Stacey Ruddick, Andrew Ruddick, step-grandchildren: DeeDee Reno, Deborah Carter, Sandra Maleitzke, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, sister, Gertrude Onker.


Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th Street, Holland. The Rev. John Westra will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
