In 1855 Rev T R Rule married Eliza Jane Gray. Together they had 4 children: Samuel Hadley Rule, Dicey Rule, Isabella Rule and Edward Lee Rule. Eliza died shortly after the birth of Edward. Edward does not show up on any documents after this time, so it is assumed he also died at birth. (the will of Eliza's father shows the other three children).
On April 9 1965 Rev T R Rule married Margaret Stayton nee Barker. This was her second marriage, the first was to a Christopher Stayton. Together Thomas and Margaret had 2 children: Richard Silas Rule and Ida Rule.
Thomas parents were John Rule and Theodocia Collins. John Rule died at an early age in 1819, his buriel site is unknown at present. Dicy as she was know moved with Thomas and his siblings to Missouri following John's death.
Thomas's paternal grandparents were Thomas Ruleand Phebe Byram. Thomas and Phebe lived the last years of their lives as Shakers in Mercer County Kentucky.
