Funeral services for Maria Felipa Fleming, 73, of Lubbock, will be at 12 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Andres Mendoza officiating. Rosary will be this evening at 7 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be at Seagraves Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
Felipa passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at home. She was born to Pilar and Cornelia DeLeon on Sept. 7, 1936 in Gonzales, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Christina Gomez, Consuelo DeLeon and Ignacia Robles.
Felipa retired from Texas Instruments after 18 years of dedicated service. She was formerly married to the late Arvel Fleming, who passed away in 1998.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Barbara Fleming Zapata and husband Russell Zapata and Gabriella Fleming; sisters, Teodora Cano of Leesville, Francisca Garcia of California and Rosa Davila and husband Joe Davila; nieces, Corina Igo, Doreen Gomez, Darlene Gomez and Lorena Gomez; grandchildren, Lexi, Amber, Haley, Jr., Matthew, Chris, Zachary, Phillip, Christina and Ashley; great-granddaughter, Mia Grace; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
