ARNOLD FRANK CHAUZA

Arnold Frank Chauza, formerly of DuBois, Nebraska, was born on May 12, 1913 in Pawnee County, Nebraska to James and Blanche (Yoble) Chauza on the family farm southwest of DuBois. He was the third of four children. He attended East Star and DuBois High School. He passed away in Cape Coral, Florida on October 3, 2002 at the age of 89 years.

On December 22, 1937 he was married to Velma Blecha in Pawnee City, Nebraska. Born to this union were six children: Albert Lee, Mary Irene, Charles Edmund, Luella Blanche, Melvin Dean and Roy Arnold.

He farmed, raised registered herford cattle and hampshire pigs, did custom farming, as well as seed and oil sales. He owned a sawmill, well drilling outfit, A.C. Garage & Gas Station, Feed and Tire Store, all in DuBois, Nebraska area. He was baptized and a member of the Faith Bible Church in DuBois, Nebraska and continued his faith throughout his life.

He was divorced in 1961 and remarried on June 16, 1963 to Alyce Meisinger Merritt. He sold his business properties and moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1969. He was employed at the Rose Gardens, a grounds keeper at Ft. Meyers Hospital and the Cape Coral Country Club, then he started his own lawn service, which he continued with until he was 70 years old when he finally retired. After the death of his second wife, he was remarried on December 14, 1990 to Estelle Pitman DeAngelo, she also preceded him in death.

Arnold was a very hard worker and very proud of his home. He loved flowers, singing, dancing, jokes and traveling. His favorite vacation was to the Holy Land. He loved visiting with family and friends. He continued to live in his home until June 17, when he was taken to the hospital, then moved to the Cape Coral Manor on June 24, 2002.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Aylce and Estelle, Brothers Glenn and Joy, and great-granddaughter Bobbi Lynn Chauza.

Arnold leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Adella Bryant of Prescott, AZ; sons and spouses, Albert and Ardell Chauza, Charles Chauza, Melvin and Rita Chauza, and Roy Chauza; daughters and spouses, Mary and Norman Barker, Luella and Douglas Hinrichsen; eighteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; first wife Velma Boomgaarn; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Grave side services and interment were Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the DuBois Cemetery, DuBois, Nebraska with Pastor Allen Harder officiating.
