J.B. Adams, Pioneer County Resident, Dies

Jennings Bryan Adams, 67, a resident of Hall County for more than 50 years, died unexpectedly at his home in Memphis Friday evening, Dec. 4. Mr. Adams had lived in Memphis for the past several months, but still maintained his farming interest in the Lesley Community.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 in the Lesley Baptist Church with the Rev. C.A. Butler, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in the family plot in Lakeview Cemetery with services under the direction of Spicr Funeral Home.

A native of Texas, Mr. Adams was born Dec. 22, 1896 in Lindale. He was united in marriage to Miss Nettie Boone April 7, 1918 at Lakeview.

In addition to his farming interests, Mr. Adams was also engaged in the Real Estate business for the past several years.

Mr. Adams was a member of the Lesley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Boone Adams of Ralls; one daughter, Mrs. Lou Alice Nilo of Tucson, Ariz.; 5 grandchildren; four brothers, Cicero of Tucumcari, N.M. and H.P., Cone and Dudley, all of Borger; one sister, Mrs. Chester Ione Sachse of Quitaque.

Pall bearers were Harold Hightower, N.A. Hightower, Wayne Adams, Billy Joe Sochse [sic], Herbert Adams and Bob Hinton.

Honorary pall bearers were Gip McMurry, D.C. Hall Zack Salmon, W.N. Hughes, Louie Goffinett, Jack Fowler, Cap Byars, J.W. Hatley, O.D. Rampey, V.G. Byars and M.M. Kennard.
