Charlie Washington Moore, age 82, died Tuesday, February 19 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 20 at Abrams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Burnside and the Rev. Jimmy Clark officiating.

The son of the late William Moore and the late Becky Leonard, he was a carpenter and also had worked several years at M P Felt in Houston. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Van Doris Moore of Houston; one daughter, Bernice Moore of Jacksonville, Florida; three sons, James Moore, Charles Moore and Bobby Moore, all of Houston; one stepdaughter, Darlene Moore of West Point; two stepsons, the Rev. Jimmy Morris of Hattiesburg and Jackie Morris of Colorado; 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mike Moore, Kent Gore, Sonny Hamilton, Lewis Alexander, Gary Moore and Billy Smith.

Abrams Funeral Home of Houston was in charge of arrangements.
