Lucius M. Bulger married Florine S. Shuman on August 31, 1870 in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. They moved to Bellevue, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania about 1880, where they lived out their lives.

Lucius Bulger died at home on April 24, 1930 at 928 California Avenue. He died of pneumonia following the fracture of his pelvis after he was hit by an automobile.

Lucius Bulger was buried in the Homewood Cemetery on June 26, 1930. He is buried close to his wife Florine and his daughter Elizabeth Colvin Bulger.
