Sarah's spouse Joseph Davis died 1837 in Marengo County Alabama, his death was noted in the Nanafalia Baptist church records. He is most likely buried in the church cemetery, no headstone.
Children:
Sarah "Sallie" Davis (1828-aft 1900)
Ann "Nancy" Davis (1832-1864)
Eliza T. Davis (1833-aft 1866)
Elizabeth Davis (1835-bef 1880)
Joseph Davis (1837-1926)
Sarah Roberts Davis second marriage was to Wiley Etheridge, they were united in marriage the 17 Jan. 1844 in Marengo County Alabama. One child was born to this union.
Child:
Demarius Caldoia Etheridge (1845-1923)
Sarah and Wiley also raised my great grandfather John Bethel Roberts after his parents died. Quote from an old family letter "John was age 9 when he went to live with his Aunt Sarah Etheredge", who was most certainly at least John's surrogate Mother.
Sarah & Wiley Etheridge were dismissed by letter from Nanafalia Baptist church in Marengo County Alabama December 2, 1866, Sarah was not with Wiley Etheridge on the 1870 Clarke County Alabama census. It appears she died in either Clarke or Marengo County, Alabama between 1867-1870.
