FUNERAL OF INFANT
Funeral services for Susan Robertson Vaughan, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Spencer Vaughan Jr., were conducted at the grave in Spring Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. today by the Rev. J. G. Thompson of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church.

This epitaph was written by Charles Dickens for another child who died many years ago. Re-written by grandmother, Lucy Robertson:
"This is the grave of a little child who God in His goodness called to a bright eternity when she was very young. Hard as it is for human affection to reconcile itself to death in any shape (and most of all perhaps) at first. In this her parents can even now believe that it will be a consolation to them throughout their lives; and when they shall have grown old and grey, always to think of her, as a child in heaven."
